He had been the author of the Commentary on the Constitution of India and Casebook on the Indian Constitutional Law He had been a recipient of the civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan He has been awarded honorary doctorates by more than six universities in India along with a doctorate of law from the University of Calcutta Durga Das Basu was a Judge Of Calcutta High Court. Probably the best book on Indian constitution.
