Author Biography
About the author
Dr Chandratre is a practising Company Secretary at Pune who has been in the
profession of Company Secretary for over 30 years, before which he worked in the
academia and industry. He has an impressive academic background, with a Master’s
degree in Commerce, Law degree and Doctorate degree from the University of Pune.
He is a fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
Dr. Chandratre has secured several academic and professional distinctions and
honours and copious published writings to his credit with over 1000 articles and 26
books on various subjects in the areas of Corporate Laws and Corporate Secretarial
Practice. He has been a distinguished member of many working groups and
committees, constituted by the government, market regulators and industry bodies,
dealing with corporate and securities laws.
Dr. Chandratre was a member Secretarial Standards Board and Chairman of the Core
Group on Secretarial Audit of the ICSI. He was also the Chairman of the Expert Advisory
Group of the ICSI for the past four years.
